Governor Ayade Orders Aides Seeking Elective Offices To Resign

Cross River state governor, Ben Ayade has ordered the immediate resignation of political candidates seeking elective positions in 2023.

The order was contained in a statement signed by his Secretary-General of News, Christian Ita, on Wednesday in Calabar.

He said any political candidate seeking elective positions should submit a letter of resignation on Thursday.

Mr Ayade also demanded that any political candidate who is currently serving but wishes to run for office in the upcoming 2023 elections is also free to resign.

“Such appointees should turn in their resignation letters on or before noon on Thursday. Such letters should be submitted to the office of the Secretary to State Government,” the governor said.

Mr Ayade thanked the nominees for their valuable services to the government and prayed that God would bless their future efforts.
