Former Member of the House of Representatives, Honorable Bernard Mikko, has joined the race for power in Rivers State come 2023.
Mikko, speaking to reporters on Thursday, said his vision for Rivers State was to use his resources to promote rapid and equitable development and economic growth.
He said the process of appointing leadership and the emergence of a political office bearer was a major part of the challenges of poverty, corruption, weak or failing institutions and mismanagement.
According to him, “As we continue to emphasize the need for good and strong institutions of government, we often overlook the importance of the personal qualities of those who make them work. It is in this regard that I offer myself as a humble servant without blemish to fly the APC flag in Rivers State and bring our party to a resounding victory in the 2023 general election.”
Mikko noted that if elected, he would also change the education system to produce qualified students with the right technical and business skills that would create jobs and solve social problems and not have unemployed students who simply explain social problems rather than govern and solve them.
