Suspected gunmen stormed several villages in the Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
Former Kaduna lawyer Shehu Sani revealed this on Twitter on Tuesday.
According to Sani, one of the victims is the local chief of the ruling party.
The tweet reads, “Yesterday’s night, terrorists invaded some villages in Kagarko LG, Kaduna State; they killed, they kidnapped and they stole cattle; one of the victims is a local chieftain of the ruling party. We keep praying for an end to this tragedy.”
The APC local chief, Aribi Ward, has been identified as Iliya Auta. He has been the APC chairperson for the ward.
In recent months, Kaduna has witnessed violent attacks that have resulted in the killing and abduction of civilians.
On March 28, a train bound for Kaduna was attacked by gunmen, killing eight people and several missing people.
Some of the hostages are currently being held by gunmen.
Days after the train crash, 11 soldiers were killed during a shootout at the Birnin Gwari LGA military base in Kaduna State.
