
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won all 23 local government seats in the recent by-elections in Benue.
The chairman of the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), Tersoo Loko, made the announcement on Sunday when he announced the results at the commission’s headquarters in Makurdi.
Mr Loko said the party emerged winner by defeating the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) and the Labor Party (LP) thereby winning all council seats and 276 councillorship positions.
He thanked his team for the free, fair and credible elections and said this would be the last election he would run as chairman of the BSIEC.
He also thanked the people of Benue for their support and was pleased that no violence had been recorded at any polling station.
