All members of the Progressives Congress (APC) in Orolu and the Irepodun Local Government Areas of Osun State have attacked the actions of certain party members to distort plans on both Senatorial and House of Representatives seats.
APC members, who had gathered at the party’s Secretariat in Ilobu on Monday, insisted that a ticket for the party’s House of Representatives should be kept in Irepodun / Orolu, while a Senate ticket remained in Osogbo / Olorunda as agreed in 2018.
Although they say some members of the party are currently planning for two party tickets to be held in Osogbo / Olorunda, they have called on party leaders and State Governor Adegboyega Oyetola to ensure fair and equitable representation in the universe.
Expressing their views on the report released at the end of their meeting, members pointed out that the conduct of political affairs in the Federal Constituency had the same respect and co-operation between the four local government constituencies that make up the Federal Constituency.
Reading the report released after the meeting, APC secretary for the Osogbo Federal Constituency, Abayomi Oyedeji stressed that in order to honor the unity of purpose, the design formula agreed upon for 2018 should be maintained.
He added that maintaining the status quo was a key factor in securing the APC victory in 2022 Osun gubernatorial and the 2023 general election.
