All Is Not Well With Nigeria – Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo expressed sympathy for Nigeria as he stated everything is not going well for Nigeria, although he hopes that the situation will improve.

Mr Obasanjo, who has repeatedly criticized President Muhammadu Buhari’s handling of national affairs, pointed out that Nigeria needed honest men and women.

Mr Obasanjo, who made the remarks at a Global Crusade conference organized by Deeper Life Bible Church, Abeokuta on Tuesday, urged Nigerians to have faith in God.

The former president explained that in view of the situation, Nigeria and the rest of the world need God’s visit, urging all of God’s children to seek his help.

“If you consider what is going on in our cities, our states, our country, our region of West Africa, our continent and indeed our globe, our world requires crusades of this nature,” Mr Obasanjo stressed. “Some people accused us, Christians of religiosity without spirituality. Yes that has been the position of the world even in the time of Jesus Christ, but should we lose hope? No.”

The ex-president added, “There is no time in the world when things have been bad that it is not the children of God that stood out.”

He said Noah stood out in his time and also Job, who God described as a man who feared him and shunned evil and a man of great integrity.

“Nigeria needs such men of integrity at this present moment. I believe that because of these kinds of men and women of such virtue in Nigeria, God will open his eyes and have mercy on this country,” Mr Obasanjo reasoned. “Unless those who don’t want to be honest with themselves will say that all is well, but if we trust in God and believe in Jesus Christ all will be well.”

Mr Obasanjo further emphasised the importance of believing in God to solve problems.

“Children of God, whatever may be our situation, whatever may be the condition, let us have faith in God, and all will be well,” he said.

Deeper Life general manager Williams Kumuyi, who was visiting the former president, prayed to God to give Mr Obasanjo more years to contribute to the development of Nigeria.

Mr Kumuyi said his visit was to pay tribute to Mr Obasanjo and to invite him to a conference where he would share his words of wisdom with the people and the world.

The overseer-general, in his message, stated that God had arranged for perfect rulership over the earth by means of Jesus Christ.

Mr Kumuyi also pointed out that the only way to rule completely over the issue of some situations is to live a holy life and to dedicate oneself to God through Christ.
