Dr. Mustapha Muhammad Inuwa, has tendered his resignation as Secretary to the Government of Katsina State in order to chase his 2023 political ambition.
Mustapha intends to be the governorship flag-bearer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) and by extension, the state Governor come 2023.
The statement indicates that the SGS has already forwarded his resignation letter to Governor Aminu Bello Masari, who has accepted his resignation and the governor had in turn wished him well in all his future endeavours.
The SGS in the statement expressed profound appreciation to the governor and the people of the state for the privilege to serve the state since 2015.
While praying for the success of the Masari-led administration which is gradually coming to an end, Dr Inuwa, thanked the entire people of the State for their continued support and cooperation extended to him as well as the APC government in the State.
Meanwhile, the Katsina State Governor, Aminu Bello Masari has accepted the resignation of the SGS, expressing appreciation for the services Dr Inuwa rendered as Secretary to the Government of the State from 2015 to date.
The Governor also prayed for his success in future endeavours, the statement noted.
In a related development, the Katsina State Deputy Governor, QS Mannir Yakubu also resigned his appointment as the Commissioner of Agriculture and Natural Resources in preparation to join the state’s governorship race.
His chief press secretary, Ibrahim Musa Kallah, made the disclosure in a press statement issued to journalists on behalf of his principal on Wednesday.
