President Muhammadu Buhari and the Governor of Sokoto state, Aminu Tambuwal, have held a private meeting at Presidential Villa, Abuja.
Tambuwal is one of the leading runners-up in the presidential ticket of the opposition People’s Democratic Party’s (PDP).
Demanders for the PDP president involved in the process include Tambuwal; Bauchi colleague Governor Bala Mohammed; former Senate President Bukola Saraki and Managing Director of FsB International Bank, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
On April 10, Tambuwal said Buhari and his political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), turned Nigeria into an unruly state since taking office in 2015.
Saying this in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State, he added that Nigeria has no leadership in the institution.
Tambuwal, who is also the chairperson of the PDP Governors Forum, said the current situation in the country made many Nigerians feel that the government did not exist.
