Armed thugs have attacked yet again the flag bearer of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the Ekiti State governorship election, Segun Oni.
The thugs, armed with guns and dangerous weapons, were said to have shot directly at Mr. Oni’s convoy, during a visit to the palace of Onitaji of Itaji-Ekiti in Ekiti State.
The incident, which happened on Saturday afternoon, was said to have caused panic and pandemonium in the local community.
A source, who confirmed the incident could not immediately verify if there were casualties in the attack.
All efforts to reach Mr. Oni’s campaign spokesperson, Jackson Adebayo, proved abortive at press time.
On April 6, armed thugs wielding guns, machetes, stones, and other dangerous weapons first attacked Mr. Oni and attempted to disrupt the campaign rally at Efon Alaaye.
