Following the death of late gospel singer Osinachi, the Nigerian Police Force has reported arrested her husband, identified as Peter Nwachukwu, over alleged murder in Abuja.
The arrest follows public outrage on account of Osinachi’s colleagues’ revelations, which accused her husband of beating her to death.
Nigerian gospel singer, Frank Edwards, in a live Instagram video, had also alleged that Osinachi’s husband abused her on several occasions.
Amid this, a police source revealed that Peter was arrested on Sunday afternoon.
The source said, “A young man who claimed to be a relative of the late woman came to report the matter at the station and the police went to arrest him at his residence.”
Confirming the development, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, said: “He is now in our custody. The younger brother of the deceased reported the matter and we have commenced investigation.”
