Top officials of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) honoured the Abuja High Court summons to explain why the party’s May 28 presidential primary should be stopped
The summon was issued last Thursday following a previous application by another
Cosmos Ndukwe wants to cancel the party’s planned primary meeting due to allegations of failing to separate the South East presidential ticket among other things.
Justice Donatus Okorowo issued the court order in a ruling on the ex-parte application argued by a Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN, Paul Erokoro.
It has been noted that the party leaders consulted extensively with their leading lawyer and Nigerian Senior Advocate, SAN, Mahmud Magaji.
Apart from Magaji, senior lawyers including Kalu Agu Kalu have been included in the negotiations to rescue the party from future injuries.
