Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, officially known by his stage name, Wizkid had earlier been nominated for in two categories for the 64th Grammy awards.
Wizkid was nominated for:
Best Global Music Performance
(For “Essence” with Temz) and
Best Global Music Album
(For “Made in Lagos” album”).
Unfortunately, he lost the first which is the Best Global Music Performance to Arooj Aftab and the second, Best Global Music Album to Angelique Kidjo.
Notwithstanding, Wizkid bagged the Best Music Video at the 63rd Grammy awards last year and stands out as one of the African artists to have won the prestigious award.
