Abbas Umar Masanawa, managing director of the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC), has declared governorship interest without tendering resignation in line with President Buhari’s order.
The director intends to contest for governorship under the All Progressives Congress (APC) Kaduna chapter.
The NSPMC is part of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) which is responsible for the printing and making of national currency notes, coins and high-quality security documents.
Buying the N50 million APC form on Wednesday, Mr Masanawa joined CBN governor Godwin Emefiele and other political candidates to pursue their political ambitions without resigning.
Former Deputy General Manager at Zenith Bank, Mr Masanawa served as Mr Emefiele’s special adviser, and gradually rose to prominence at NSPMC.
