First lady Aisha Buhari hosted a summit for the APC female aspirants, amid public outrage over the horrific murder of Deborah Samuel, a Christian female student at Shehu Shagari College of Education by some Muslims.
Aisha Buhari took to her Facebook page on Saturday to post photos of the summit she hosted for APC female aspirants.
“Earlier this afternoon, I hosted the APC Female Aspirants to a summit in collaboration with the office of the APC Women Leader,” Mrs Buhari said.
“I commended the aspirants for their courage and also charged the Nigerian women and men to give their support and commitment in ensuring that more female aspirants emerge as candidates of the various political parties and ultimately elected into offices, as partners for progress and development,” she added.
Ms Samuel was mobbed at the school’s security post by angry Muslim colleagues and students who hit her repeatedly with sticks and stones before setting her ablaze on Thursday, a development widely condemned by Nigerians.
