Senator Teslim Kolawole Folarin, gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State said that the attack on the convoy of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu was politically motivated.
Folarin who represents Oyo Central Senatorial District made this disclosure on Monday.
Reporters gathered that a bus conveying a press crew of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and attached to the convoy of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling APC was attacked yesterday in Lagos.
The incident occurred at the Adeniji Adele end of Isale Eko after Tinubu visited the Oba of Lagos, Rilwan Akiolu.
Tinubu was returning to Lagos State after emerging as the presidential candidate of the APC ahead of the 2023 elections.
Folarin, while condemning the attack alleged it was politically motivated.
He urged security agencies to fish out the perpetrators to serve as a deterrent to others.
The lawmaker in a statement made available to reporters also described the attack as a criminal act.
Folarin said, “The attack on the press crew of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s convoy is utterly condemnable. It’s a politically motivated and criminal act.
“I urge the law enforcement agencies to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to book as it will serve as a deterrent to others”.
