Human rights activist, Shehu Sani has revealed the only way a southern Nigerian can replace President Buhari in 2023.
Prior to the 2023 presidential election, several parties and well-meaning people have been agitating for the South East to produce the next President of Nigeria.
However, the All Progressives congress, the APC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, the PDP, are not yet sure where they will place the presidential ticket.
Sani, on Tuesday, said the only way the South African president could emerge in 2023 is if the two major political parties produce candidates for the presidential election.
His tweet read: “Power will shift to the South only if the candidates of the two main political parties are picked from the South.”
At the same time, leaders of regional and cultural groups, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Afenifere, and the PANDEF, accused the APC of playing hanky-panky with the 2023 presidential plan for the South.
These organizations are adamant that the Presidency should return to the southern part of the country.
However, the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) led by Prof. Ango Abdullahi, frowned at zoning of presidency, demanding that all major political parties should throw their tickets open to all sections of the country.
According to them, “power shift arrangement is already dead and buried.”
