Ahead of the 2023 general elections, The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Friday disqualified two presidential aspirants, out of 17.
Following the dismissal, the two candidates will be deprived of the N40 million paid to purchase the interest and nomination forms.
The chairman of the presidential evaluation committee, Senator David Mark, announced the disqualification of the two candidates on Friday evening.
Mark, however, declined the journalists’ request to disclose the identities of the disqualified candidates.
Asked if the evaluation committee had made any recommendations to the party to return the N80 million nomination fee paid to those who wanted to enter, Mark said: “Why should the party return the money?”
