2023: Ibe Kachikwu’s Brother Dumebi Beats Moghalu, Monye to Win ADC Presidential Ticket

A winner has emerged from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) by the name of Dumebi Kachikwu.

He is currently the flagbearer of the ADC party for the forth coming presidential election in 2023.

The Roots Television founder defeated Kinsley Moghalu, a former Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Deputy Governor.

Moghalu, who joined the ADC in October 2021, was Young Progressives Party (YPP) presidential candidate in 2019.

Dumebi is the younger brother of former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu.

He was declared the winner after scoring 977 votes; Moghalu polled 589 votes; Chukwuka Monye got 339 votes.

Eight other aspirants participated in the presidential primary in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.

The defeat of Moghalu is being discussed on social media. The aspirant is yet to react as of press time.

In his reaction, Monye tweeted: “ADC primaries is done. I appreciate Prof. Moghalu and other credible aspirants for a spirited fight even though we didn’t make it.

“The fight to rescue this country from the brink of disaster is still on. Monye is committed to this. Will communicate who we will support.”
