Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum has formally dissolved the state executive council.
This is contained in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Administration and General Services, Danjuma Ali, issued in Maiduguri.
It said: “The governor has authorized the immediate dissolution of the members of the Executive Council.”
The dissolution is to take effect from Thursday, May 5.
Mr Ali explained that the dissolution was to create an environment that allowed interested members of the executive council to formally participate in future primaries and conferences of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
He said Mr Zulum expressed his gratitude to them for their indescribable contributions while in office and wished them well in their future plans.
